Back Room donations and sorting area


Our shop is entirely Volunteer managed and run. There are no paid staff.

The management team is responsible for the premises, the finances, volunteer management, shop IT, and the overall running of the business.

We have teams of people of varied skills, background and interests, who organise our donations from receipt to placement on our shelves, to selling them.

Our main Volunteer activities are looking after the front desk with customer assistance and sales, and back room activities of sorting, pricing and shelving books.

Desk shifts are for four hours, and back room volunteers need to come in at least once a week.

We look for people with a love of books and reading, and who also have good communication skills.

Our team is large, and we are always looking for new people to replace those who leave their volunteer roles for various reasons.

Please note that you need to be at least 18 to volunteer with us.
