đ˘We are very sad to see the closure of Oxfam Shop and the ethical commercial support provided to their small community-based suppliers from around the world.
The Bookshop Volunteer Group and Management Committee have valued the collaboration and friendships that have developed over many years with the dedicated Oxfam Trading staff we have shared the Hutt Street premises with in Adelaide. We wish them all the very best. â¤ď¸
âď¸Please note the Bookshop, as an independently run organisation, is not part of the Oxfam Shop retail closures and will continue to operate at the same location as normal.âď¸
As some reporting has mistakenly or inadvertently inferred the Bookshop was part of this announcement, our management committee has issued the following public message to all our customers and volunteers:
DEAR CUSTOMERS AND VOLUNTEERS
PLEASE BE ASSURED:
THE OXFAM BOOKSHOPâS FUTURE IS SECURE!
WE WILL CONTINUE, AS ONE OF ADELAIDEâS LARGESTÂ SECOND HAND BOOKSTORES, TO OFFER YOU A LARGE RANGE OF QUALITY BOOKS AT REASONABLE PRICES.
WE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONTINUEDÂ PATRONAGE.
WITH YOUR HELP, WE PLAN TO GROW THE AMOUNTÂ WE RAISE FOR OXFAM AUSTRALIA.
LAST YEAR, WE RAISED NEARLY A QUARTER OF AÂ MILLION DOLLARS.
LETâS MAKE IT MORE IN 2019!
THANK YOU FROM THE COMMITTEE
(Volunteers – please also refer to the direct email from our Management Committee Co-Chairs.)
